Janaea's Nightmare

Ok, So this is my first attempt at posting but I wanted to share my recent nightmare that I experienced. So I started working again after being a stay at home Mom for nearly 4 years and I have been doing pretty good at leaving the kids. Thank goodness I just work at night and so Dan is able to stay at home with the kids.
Well the kids had been fighting kind of a bug but it wasn't to bad and it was my second night at work (Saturday)and I get a call from Dan saying that he has just call the Ambulance and they are on thier way because Mahala just had a seizure. I stopped him in mid sentence and said I am on my way and ran out of work. A drive which normally take me 20 -25 minutes to make took me 8 minutes going as fast as possible and driving against traffic. The whole time I am balling and streaming just let her be ok please just let her be ok. I get to the house and it is what seems to me like it is sworming with police and Ambulance. I run over and find out how she is doing and she was jsut sitting in the ambulance talking to them and holding a stuffed puppy that they gave her. They told me that I could ride up to the hospital with them as long as I did not freak out and I was calm expectally if she had another seizure. I agreed and we went up to McKay Dee Hospital. On the way up they explained to me that because he tempature got so high 105.7 her body did not know what to do and it has a seizure to help brake the fever. Apparently this is a fairly common thing to happen for little kids. She had an ear infection that we think caused her fever to spike and cause this. They checked her to make she that there was nothing else causing this to happen and to do this they had to take some blood, it was as I am sure you could imagin very uncomfortable but when the nurse was done she told her thank you. The nurse was so shocked and said that no one has ever said thanks for have thier blood taken expectly a little girl. It was so sweet. The nurses were able to get her temp down in about an hour and she was able to go home. But that was the scariest thing I have ever had to go through. After about 3 more days she finally broke her tempature completely and she is all better.
Earlier that week we began to potty train Mahala. She had just gotten the hang of it when she got sick and I did not want her to have to deal with being sick and trying not to have any acidents. So it was back in diapers. Well now that she is better she is back in panties but it was not with out a fight. She kept asking for pull ups and I asked her why she did not what to where panties and she said that she did not want to pee in them and I was like then you just go in and use the bathroom like a big girl. Well after a lot of convincing we are now back on track with potty training and am happy to report that she only had one accident first thing in the morning and the rest of the day she was accident free.

That is so scary!!! There's nothing more frightening than seeing your baby needing help and you're not able to help them. That's the worst feeling in the world. I hope Dan is OK as well...I am sure seeing your child have a seizure would stop your heart. Holy moly!! I just hope the infection has cleared up and that she's getting better and that she won't get any more ear infections.
